We could let you play with a little web site gizmo to try
and work out an approximate cooling or heating load, or to
give you an approximate price, but when we will do it for
nothing - what's the point? - You must have better things
to do? - We show you below - all you need is a calculator.
It is not difficult to work out approximate budget costs
and loads, but it is best to talk to us if you have a serious
project as we can advise more accurately, based on your building
and how you use it.
So get your calculator out:

An approximate guide to working out cooling loads (if it
cools and you use a heat pump - it will also heat you in winter
as well) - tell me - What's a
heat Pump?
For most offices, homes or shops:
Take the floor area of room or rooms in m2 (sq. m.)
and multiply by 150watts. This will give you an approximate
total cooling load in watts.
e.g. 3m x 4m = 12m2 x 150w = 1800w or 1.8kw
If the room or area does not suffer too much from direct
sun radiation you could use a lower figure of 85w/m2.
e.g. 35m x 50m = 1750m2 x 85w = 148750w or 148.75kw
Computer and equipment or telecomm rooms can have a much
higher load, for budgeting we suggest you allow 400w/m2.
e.g. 2m x 1.5m = 3 m2 x 400w = 1200w or 1.2kw N
Note that equipment rooms normally have high sensible cooling
loads and ordinary air conditioners may not be suitable.

Only use these guide prices to give you an idea of what you
should budget for, contact us for a more realistic cost budget.
Many factors affect the final price and there are many options
available for most applications.
A mobile air conditioner will cost anything from £300
(approx.) to well over a £1000 depending on the
cooling capacity, quality, functions and type.
The general cheapest cost to supply and install a split system
room air conditioner is around £1300, again capacity,
quality and functions will affect the price, as will the amount
of time and materials required to carry out the installation in
your premises.
For larger systems, serving many rooms or larger areas, budget
costs are based on a price per square metre of the floor area.
For general comfort applications, offices for example can
range from £65 per sq.m for basic cooling only
systems to over £150 per sq.m for the most modern
heating and cooling systems.
Every application is different so contact us for the best
advice.
